Stephen Boyd graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of Queensland in 1984. He gained post-graduate experience, particularly in the areas of Orthopaedics and Spinal Injuries while working at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
Stephen spent the next 25 years developing his skills in both inpatient and outpatient settings across Brisbane. He has had the opportunity to work alongside Orthopaedic Surgeons and Spinal Surgeons in various settings, assisting with conservative management, pre-operative, post-operative, and outpatient care. Stephen’s physiotherapy protocols are adapted to suit the needs of his patients with consideration of best clinical practice and current surgical procedures.
His private physiotherapy practice has expanded to cover several locations in private hospitals and outpatient clinics around Brisbane city. His team of physiotherapists provide quality care in these settings.
Throughout his professional career, Stephen has held positions on committees at the state and national level of the Australian Physiotherapy Association. He has also been a member of a number of committees within private hospitals around Brisbane. He is currently on the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal as a State Government appointed assessor in physiotherapy matters.
Since 1999, Stephen has provided physiotherapy care for Dr Licina’s spinal patients, both surgical and non-surgical. This association has now developed into regular combined clinics with Dr Licina and Exercise Physiologist, Nathan Wade, to optimise patient rehabilitation.
